About

The Barrie Royals Basketball Club was established in 1985 by a dedicated group of teachers, high school coaches and basketball enthusiasts.

The club has grown from one Midget Boys competitive team to fifteen Boys and Girls competitive teams in Novice to Junior age categories in the 2007 season. The club also operates a non-competitive ‘Houseleague’ program for children ages 7 to 13 years of age.

The Barrie Royals is not-for-profit organization affiliated with Basketball Ontario. Operated by a volunteer Board of Directors, our club is proud to have a highly skilled group of NCCP certified coaches that are dedicated to the development of young athletes.

The Club hosts tournaments sanctioned by Basketball Ontario with our competitive teams’ season culminating in participation at Provincial Championships at which many teams have been successful by winning over 60 Gold, Silver and Bronze medals over the past twenty two years.

The Barrie Royals are also proud of many young basketball players that have excelled on Basketball Ontario Regional and Provincial Teams as well as at the University and College level.

Our players, coaches and volunteers are participating in the fastest growing team sport in Canada and living in one of the best communities in Ontario. The Barrie Royals provide an opportunity to develop knowledge and experience and welcome basketball enthusiasts to join us.
